Shane Ramer’s Sobriety Message to Men: You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
“If you’re a man out there and you’re tired of being tired—there is another way.”
That one line from Shane Ramer stuck with me.
In this week’s episode of Sober Life Rocks, we sat down with Shane—the bold voice behind That Sober Guy, a sober podcast for men that’s reached over 4 million downloads. But this isn’t just a story about a podcast. It’s about purpose.
“What’s a podcast?”
That’s what Shane asked the first time someone suggested he listen to one during his brutal 4-hour daily commute.
That moment changed his life.
Shane’s story starts in a home filled with love but marked by addiction. As he struggled with alcohol into adulthood, he eventually hit a breaking point—and then, he rebuilt.
He found strength through podcasts, faith, and eventually, a calling to help others. Today, he doesn’t just tell people how to get sober. He shows up—daily, humbly, and full of fire—for the men who need it most.
“You can still be cool. You can still be a great dad, a great husband. You can be more of all those things when you stop drinking.”
We also talk about Amplify, our upcoming event for sober creators. Shane’s all in—not to plan it (he laughed at that part)—but to share, connect, and support others starting out.
